RT @SF_BananaSam: The security at the zoo was laughably simple to breach. Anyway, STILL WAITING for the goddam L Taraval.
Massive head cold is not relenting, despite the significant amt of work I need to do. Louis CK to the rescue. http://t.co/k8FJ0lHb
Agggggghhhh. Hate when i get jalapeno juice in my eye. And then stupidly rub my eye with my hand, which also has jalapenos on it. Stellar.
Just to be the girl that walks 1000 miles with you. 80’s cover band killin it at the Twitter party. #celebrate http://t.co/FQKoGJKO
The shuttle driver singing Mariah Carey’s We Belong Together this morning made me laugh. He’s always singing sweet but annoying love songs.
Work shenanigans! Feeling festive in the office. Love my office mates cc @missmands http://t.co/Jzj713fg
How I Met Your Mother was a doozy this week. This calls for a strong, home-brewed beer.
Jealous of anyone who gets to see @joshritter Alaska shows. Ritter and Alaska both? To the heartbeat of a lark or the lark in my heartbeat.
One of those mind blowing, intellectually fulfilling days at work. Absurdly fortunate to do something I love so dearly.

Feeling good again, Robert Earl Keen… Some TX music in Irish pub in SB. Whiskey is making me forget that I’m 10 yrs older than this crowd
The Amtrak experience is far exceeding expectations. People actually look happy and no TSA agents have felt me up. Great vacation already!
Totally ready for the glory of George Clooney and Ryan Gosling on the big screen tonight at Kabuki. And a Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. Bliss.
Listening to Glasvegas, drinking coffee, writing about the brain…life feels pretty good

Taking pleasure in knowing that while it’s snowing in Philly, it’s AWESOME here. Must be my psychology training. http://t.co/1fJwm4ib
The Castro version of sangria is clearly a total fruit bomb. Not sure why I would expect any different. http://t.co/MEtbs1S1
Although waking up to a vibrating bed sounds cool in theory, it’s not so much when caused by an early morning earthquake.
Ready to be demoralized by my Learn to Swim class. I may have peaked at the age of 3.
My grant is officially in the hands of the government. I can now stop drinking 8 cups of coffee a day.
Broken Social Scene and a Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ in GG park. Combine that with good friends and a gorgeous San Fran day. #hsb

Watching Top Gun for the first time in Dolores Park. How did I miss this in the 80’s? And this is when Val Kilmer looked good…
The attention to mood and atmosphere in Drive was incredible. Via @nprmusic: ‘Drive’ Lets The Songs Do The Feeling | http://t.co/2waTfx3C
Men seem to love my road bike. Something tells me that the Speedster doesn’t warrant that much praise, nor that gender bias.
Note to self: not all spices have a sifter lid on top. I just poured an entire bottle of oregano into the pasta sauce. Awesome.

It’s truly awesome to work at a place with such high expectations, and equally great to come home to a cat with such low expectations of me.
If every day could be punctuated by a Louis C.K. + Ricky Gervais comedy sketch, then that would be perfection.
A little concerned that my cat is staring at the ceiling and howling in a creepy, poltergeist kind of way. @r38y @bexs do your cats do this?
Noise-canceling headphones rock. Now I can take a moment from my day and wrap it up in things you DON’T say.
In the past hour I’ve made roasted chipotle-tomatillo salsa, salsa mexicana, and guacamole. The Mission ‘hood inspires! #ilovesf
Amazing meal at Papito in SF! If only @Pufferfish would stop stealing my carnitas http://t.co/UZskDkv

Seattle to Portland 2011, Part 2
After a whirlwind past few weeks in which we visited both sets of families and 2 close friends, I now have time to wrap up the STP ride. That makes it sound like I have an incredibly social life, but in reality, I’ve noticed that more people visit us now that we live in San Francisco. In a popularity contest with SF, SF always wins. Plus, the well-stocked liquor cabinet likely helps...

Seattle to Portland 2011, Part 1
If there was any doubt (maybe just for me), we all made it! STP 2011 was a success in all respects, and has potentially set the bar too high for any other type of event. With a backdrop of perfect weather, a light breeze, and a relatively gentle route, we successfully rode 204 miles without mishap, emotional tantrum, or major breakdown.
The night before Day 1, we stayed at a local Travelodge and...
Yay!!!!! Done and done. It’s Beer Thirty for the next 4 days!!
Mentally working through the fact that my entire rear side feels like it’s been violated. Mile 176 peeps! Lunch time!
After 120 miles, a freezing cold shower, community center spaghetti dinner, and a cold beer made me feel human again.
On the road for 5 hrs now, headed to Seattle for STP. Already thinking about celebratory northwest beer. #bikeSTP
Displeased that my final weekend prior to STP ride consists of being sick. This bug has stamina, and still going strong after 5 days.
